Nonisothermal Thermogravimetric Analysis of Thai Lignite with High CaO Content
نویسندگان
چکیده
Thermal behaviors and combustion kinetics of Thai lignite with different SO₃-free CaO contents were investigated. Nonisothermal thermogravimetric method was carried out under oxygen environment at heating rates of 10, 30, and 50°C min⁻¹ from ambient up to 1300°C. Flynn-Wall-Ozawa (FWO) and Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose (KAS) methods were adopted to estimate the apparent activation energy (E) for the thermal decomposition of these coals. Different thermal degradation behaviors were observed in lignites with low (14%) and high (42%) CaO content. Activation energy of the lignite combustion was found to vary with the conversion fraction. In comparison with the KAS method, higher E values were obtained by the FWO method for all conversions considered. High CaO lignite was observed to have higher activation energy than the low CaO coal.

Environmental Impact of Heavy Metals Contained in Fly Ash Emitted from the Thai Lignite-fired Power Plant
In this work, the highly hazardous heavy metals (HM) are the focus of an assessment of the environmental impact of the Mae Moh Power Plant (Northem Thailand) fired with Thai lignites. The synergetic environmental impacts associated with the high sulfur content in the fuel (average value of 3.3% and maximum up to 7.0%) and the presence of a large number of heavy metals (As, Ba, Ce, Co, Cr, CS, N...
متن کاملA GIS-aided resource estimation of coalfields in Kangal basin, Sivas province, Turkey
This paper presents the procedures used for determining and defining the tonnage and grade of the coalfields of Kangal basin from the developed GIS-aided block model. In this work, firstly, all the lithological logs of drill holes and chemical analysis data of core in the basin were analyzed with the help of geostatistics, and then the digital raster maps of each one of the attributes such as t...
متن کاملKinetics of Thermal Decomposition of Cubic Ammonium Perchlorate
The methods of thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimettry (DSC) have been used to study the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate (AP). TGA curves obtained under both isothermal and nonisothermal conditions show a characteristic slowdown at the extents of conversion, R ) 0.30-0.35. DSC demonstrates that in this region the process changes from an exothermic t...
متن کاملPrediction of Slag Occurrence in a Lignite-Fired Utility Boiler
Lignite from Mae Moh mine is the largest source of solid fuel for electricity generation in Thailand. It is used in pulverized coal-fired boilers of a 2400 MW thermal power plant. Its high CaO content in ash is a major concern that can affect severe slagging. In this paper, potential of slag occurrence in the power plant was investigated by numerical simulation. The FactSage thermochemical pack...

The complexation equilibria of Fe(III) with resorcylic acid (2,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid, DHB) were studied spectrophotometrically in ethanol-water (4 + 6, v/v) at an ionic strength of 0.1 M NaClO4. The complexation reactions were demonstrated and characterized. A simple, rapid, and sensitive method based on the formation of the Fe(III)-DHB complex at pH 2.5 (lambdamax = 520 nm, epsilon = 0.8 x 1...
